Arena Essex hosted an action‑packed evening of racing on 8th April 2026, with the 1300cc Saloon Stocks and 2L Hot Rods delivering six heats of 1300cc Saloon Stocks and four heats of 2L Hotrods before their respective Finals. Both formulas produced competitive racing throughout, with several drivers showing strong consistency across the programme.
1300cc Saloon Stocks
The 1300cc Saloons opened the meeting with a competitive set of heats featuring multiple race winners.
#186 Bret Gedney took the first victory of the night, followed by a strong run of results from #358 Max Tadd, who claimed wins in Heats 2, 4, and 5. #H66 Colin Croese added a win in Heat 3, while #186 Gedney returned to the top in Heat 6.
Across the heats, #616 Jamie Tresidder, #27 Chris Streets, and #606 Jonathan Siddle were consistently inside the top positions, setting up a closely matched Final.
Final – 1300cc Saloons
The Final saw #616 Tresidder take control early and maintain the lead throughout, securing a well‑deserved victory.
#27 Streets followed home in second place, with #H66 Croese completing the podium. #606 Siddle finished fourth after another steady drive.
2L Hot Rods
The Hot Rods produced fast, tidy racing with several standout performances.
#H66 Croese opened strongly with back‑to‑back wins in Heats 1 and 2, showing excellent pace. Heat 3 was a short sprint taken by #777 Gary Gray, amazingly after everyone else crashed out, #777 Gray’s ONLY win so far, while #606 Siddle claimed Heat 4 ahead of #27 Streets, #616 Tresidder, and #H66 Croese. The consistent front‑running pace of #27, #616, #606, and #H66 set the stage for a competitive Final.
Final – 2L Hot Rods
The Final was led from the front by #616 Tresidder, who delivered a composed and controlled drive to take the win.
#27 Streets again secured second place, with #H66 Croese third and #606 Siddle fourth — mirroring the top four from the 1300cc Final.
Driver of the Day
With victories in both the 1300cc Saloon Stock Final and the 2L Hot Rod Final, #616 Jamie Tresidder completed an impressive double, marking them as the standout performer of the meeting.
